What can Academic Affairs and the Registrar do for YOU?
By Betty Burns, Registrar
Academic Affairs is responsible for making sure each student completes all requirements of his/her chosen degree. Degree Audits/checklists are kept up-to-date and shared with the student and his/her advisor.
Forms that can be obtained in the Academic Affairs office include: Registration, Change of Major, Change of Registration, Pass/no Credit, Divisional Exam Requests, Permission to take a course(s) at another school, Transcript Request, Checklists for Degrees, and Graduation Applications.
Need proof of enrollment for your car insurance company or your parents’ medical insurance? Aca-demic Affairs can provide a letter that states that you are enrolled. If you have a good student form from your car insurance company, bring it to the Registrar for completion.
Students should watch their “mymail.oak.edu” email for special information from the Registrar.
Academic Affairs is responsible for Founders’ Day, Awards Day, Teacher of the Year election, Graduation Rehearsal, and Graduation.
Academic Affairs sponsors a reception for our December Graduates. Graduates are given information about graduation and have the opportunity to win prizes. For May and August graduates, a Grad Salute, a 2-day event, provides important graduation informa-tion to the graduates and allows them to win numerous prizes.
The Registrar determines who is on the Dean’s List at the end of the Fall and Spring semesters as well as determines Honors at graduation.
