Oakland City University welcomes the opportunity to assist transfer students in the process of choosing the next step in their academic career. OCU’s individualized experience and small class sizes, coupled with the challenging academics, holistic student life and championship athletics offers transfer students a great new home.

Below you will find all the necessary information needed to apply, enroll, and attend OCU.

Admissions Process

Discovery

To gain admission to OCU, transfer applicants must have completed at least six hours of college course work following graduation from high school. Applicants may be admitted to Oakland City University based on one of the following requirements:

2.0 or better on a 4.0 scale = automatic admission.

1.75 -1.99 will require the candidate to provide one of the following for conditional admittance:

  • Graduate diploma with high school honors
  • Achieve an 18 or greater on the ACT or 960 or greater on the SAT
  • Achieve a total combined score of 520 on the Accuplacer Next -Generation Reading and Arithmetic tests.

There are two ways to get course credit evaluated:

Financial Aid

After applying for admissions, you will need to file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).  In order to qualify for financial aid, you will need to do so before the April 15th deadline.  Oakland City University’s school code is 001824.
