Campus Recreation & Centers
Our Oakland City University Campus
As active as it is beautiful, safe, and secure.
“Enter to learn.” That’s what you’ll read on the sign above as you walk the path to the Murray Administration Building.
Everything you experience beyond that point – from our 30+ student organizations to athletics, academics and even dorm life – will prepare you to live out what’s on the other side of that sign as a departing Mighty Oak: “Go forth to serve.”
How will you get involved?
Student Organizations
What can’t you get involved with through OCU’s student clubs and organizations? Whatever your passion, chances are there’s a group for you:
Student Government Association
Represent the student body, make your voice heard and help get things done on campus.
Business Club
Participate in events for young entrepreneurs, like learning about contract law through a fun and exciting mock trial.
Criminal Justice Club
Visit local jails, meet law enforcement professionals, and hone your forensic skills in a “crime house” set up with dummy bodies, bullet holes and other clues.
Da Capo Music Club
Join other students who love music and participate in musical performances, community service and social activities.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Grow in your faith and disciple others as you celebrate your sport with fellow Christian athletes.

Campus Activities
Concerts, athletic events, competitions, games, social events, intramural sports – with so much going on at OCU, there’s never a dull moment!
Soul Fest
One of our biggest events, this annual concert features big names in Christian music and our homegrown worship band, The Great Command.
Mighty Oaks Athletics
Cheer on your Mighty Oaks competing in exciting NAIA conference action! Follow OCU basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, golf and cross-country at home and away.
Trivia Night
How much do you really know about world geography? Or Star Wars? Or how much of Hamilton jibes with real U.S. History? Find out at trivia nights at Bower-Suhrheinrich Student Life Center.
Events at the Grassy Knoll
Whether it’s a game of capture the flag, a festival put on by a student organization with booths and activities, or an outdoor movie night, there’s always something happening out on the knoll.
Dorm Wars
Represent your dorm in Olympic-style games and competitions throughout the year, held at the Tichenor Athletic Center (“the Tich”), to compete for bragging rights and gift cards.
Intramural Sports
Besides open gym time every night at the Tich, students can participate in a variety of organized intramural sports: Basketball, Flag Football, Dodgeball, Co-ed Softball, Cornhole Tournament, Tennis Tournament, Volleyball, and many more!
Living on Campus
Wherever you go on campus, you’ll have an enjoyable and safe experience. Thanks to our investments in high security, overseen by former Oakland City Police Chief Alec Hensley, OCU is among the top 10 safest colleges in Indiana (CollegeSnacks).
Residence Halls
OCU houses undergraduate students in four residence halls, two for men and two for women. More than living space, these are fun places to socialize, play games, study and build strong relationships that make you feel like part of the OCU family.
Parking, Laundry & Food
Parking and laundry services are free to campus residents. We also offer several food options at the Student Life Center (SLC), including the dining hall, the Holy Grounds coffee shop and The Underground.
Other Amenities
Besides the SLC, other popular spots include the Tichenor Athletic Center, featuring fitness equipment and an open gym every night; OCU’s library, the Barger-Richardson Learning Resource Center, featuring a state-of-the-art computer lab and communications lab; and the Provance Memorial Chapel, where students meet for religious gatherings.
