Discovery

To gain admission to the university, international applicants must submit evidence of graduation from an approved, accredited, or commissioned high school.  Applicants may be admitted to Oakland City University based one of the following requirements:

  •  A high school grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher.
  • A high school grade point average (GPA) or 2.0 -2.49 and an SAT score greater than 960 or an ACT score of eighteen (18) or greater.
  • Six (6) or more hours completed post high school at an accredited institution, and a 2.0 or higher-grade point average in college-level coursework.

*As a proud member of the NAIA, Oakland City University requires all international student athletes to utilize InCred for transcript evaluation and strongly suggests all international students utilize InCred to avoid any discrepancy or repetitive work being performed.

Visa & Travel

Once you have received your I-20, you will need to pay a one-time SEVIS fee at least three days before going to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate to apply for an F-1 VISA. The Consular officer will review your application, confirm that the SEVIS fee has been paid, run a required security check, and grant the F-1 VISA.
