What can Admissions do for you?

Oct 17, 2011 by     No Comments    Posted under: October

Welcome to OCU! Here in Admissions, our job is to go out and meet students at high schools and college fairs, tell them about OCU, and get them to visit the campus! We host many different types of visits including FOCUS Days, high school group visits, and personal tours. When students come to campus, we personalize their visit to meet their needs. They have the opportunity to talk with professors, attend a class, receive financial aid information, and meet with a coach. Once students apply, we follow up with them to complete their admissions and enrollment process and answer any questions they may have.

Student Ambassadors is an organization of an elite group of students who serve as hosts for the Admissions Office and help with recruiting for the school. Along with giving campus tours and serving as representatives at various university events, they also participate in blogs, videos, and call nights in order to help promote the school. They are usually some of the first smiling faces that prospective students see when they come to campus!

Things we do:

  • Helping Prospective Students Find the Perfect Fit
  • Meeting the Students
  • College Fairs, Campus Tours, and Much More!

What Else We Do…

Once a prospective student decides to join the OCU family, they will see us at many other events, with the first being Summer Spree. This is a three day/two night event where students can meet other new students during a variety of fun activities, go to Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari, and preregister for classes. The Admissions Office can also be found at the General Baptist National Youth Conference hosting the volleyball tourney and giving an OCU promo presentation, and we also help with the OCU Academic Challenge and the Founder’s Day Concert on campus. Last but not least…you’ll come to the Admissions Office to get your Student ID card – your proof that you’re a Mighty Oak!
