Fall Festival Week
By Joe Jackson
The Fall Festival week was an eventful one, with each day bringing something different for OCU students to watch or participate in.
Monday sported the popular “OCU’s Got Talent.” Entries ranging from singing to piano playing to rapping entertained the audience that night. The winners were, in third place, Sarah Shettle who sung “It Was My Sin;” in second place, Mrs. Spitler and Heather Smith, who performed a well-choreographed piano duet; and in first place, Joseph Kim, who played and sung “You Raise Me Up” in both English and Korean.
On Tuesday, the Blimpie Subs restaurant in Princeton gave away free sandwiches; the perfect opportunity for us starving college students (just kidding).
Wednesday held a bonfire; there’s nothing like watching a massive conflagration of incinerating timber after classes.
The annual “Miss OCU / Bachelor of the Year” contest, was held on Thursday. Representatives from different clubs and organizations, such as History Club, Drama Club, and the dorm RA’s, walked in front of the audience, presented a rose to their partner, and answered a randomly-picked question.
The aforementioned starving students were pleased when Friday rolled around, as more free food was given out, this time at the more convenient location of Grandy’s right here in Oakland City.
