A Letter from the VP of Student Life
You are about to embark on an experience that will change your life! As your Associate VP for Student Life, I want to personally welcome you to Oakland City University! I am excited that you have selected OCU to pursue your undergraduate studies and believe you will find our faculty and staff to be nothing less than outstanding.
Very soon, you will join an amazing community. Many folks have been working throughout the last few months preparing for your arrival. Friday, January 5, 2024, is the designated day for all new students to finalize their acceptance to OCU and for those living on campus to move into their residence hall!

This year’s New Student Orientation is entitled, “OCU ~ Where Your Legacy Begins.”
As new students of OCU, we believe orientation events play a significant role in your success. As a result, all new students coming to OCU with less than 24 college credits are required to participate in orientation. You will be busy having fun, meeting new friends and learning about expectations and resources for your success, both in and outside the classroom. It’s okay if you are nervous – I can’t think of a new student that isn’t; and if it makes you feel any better, we also get a little nervous, as our goal during orientation is to assist YOU in making a smooth transition to your collegiate experience!
Below, you will find the orientation schedule-at-a-glance.
If you have any questions between now and January 5th, please don’t hesitate to call or stop by my office if you live nearby. My office is located on the main level of the Student Life Center and my direct line is 812.749.1215. Anna Snodgrass is the Administrative Assistant for the Office of Student Life and she too, is here to serve you. She can be reached at 812.749.1421.
I look forward to meeting and assisting you as you begin this new chapter in your life. On behalf of the entire Student Life staff, I welcome you to OCU and wish you much success!
God Bless,
Brad Knotts
