Amid the new addition of sprint football, track and field, and marching band we will also be adding to our academic side. The School of Business is adding Agribusiness Management to the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) program for this Fall 2022.

Head of the Business Department, Dr. Robb said, “The new Agribusiness concentration will support transfer opportunities with community college graduates in Agribusiness and an opportunity for high school Ag/FFA students to explore an Ag Business program at OCU’s School of Business. This has been a goal for the School of Business and the faculty are excited to expand our offerings to include this new option.”

The Agribusiness Management option in the BSBA program includes 24 credit hours focusing on Agribusiness Management concepts. Some of the courses will include: Agribusiness Marketing & Sales, Agribusiness Economics, Agribusiness Technologies and Professional Practicum for field experience. The first course AGR (Agribusiness) course will be offered as soon as Spring 2023, as new students into the program will be completing their Business Core of courses first for a good business foundation.

The addition of the Agribusiness program will be a great opportunity for incoming students because a degree in agribusiness can lead to a variety of career pathways and opportunities such as a career in commodity trading, farm management, grain merchandising and much more.

A degree in Agricultural Business teaches skills in problem solving in the economic and business field as well as make decisions applied to modern agriculture and the food industry. The focus will mainly be on skills needed to manage businesses specialized in the field of agriculture.
