The Financial Aid Office at Oakland City University is here to assist students and their families to recognize the value of a college education and to understand the financial aid process. The first and most important step in this process is to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students file the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.gov. Indiana residents who file the FAFSA by the state deadline of March 10 are applying for the Indiana State Grants (Frank O'Bannon Higher Education Award and the Frank O'Bannon Freedom of Choice Award).

Once the FAFSA is processed, the awarding of financial aid is next. To be considered for financial aid, students must be admitted to the university. If the FAFSA is selected for verification by the Central Processing Center, the student will be required to complete the verification process. Once this process has been completed the student s will be awarded the financial aid they are eligible to receive.
