On Friday, November 5, 2010, Oakland City University will observe its 125th Founders' Day at 10:15 a.m. (CST) in Johnson Center.
The Reverend Tony Kevin Eskew will be our guest speaker this year. Rev. Eskew resides in Bloomfield, MO with his wife Becky and has served as Pastor of First General Baptist Church for the last 33 years. He received his B.A. in Religious Studies from Oakland City College in 1974. For over 15 years, Rev. Eskew has been a lesson writer for the General Baptist Denomination.
The Oakland City University Board of Trustees will bestow an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree upon Judge Earl G. Penrod. He and his wife Brenda are Oakland City, IN residents. Judge Penrod is well known in Gibson County and across the state of Indiana. He has served our community as a Judge on the Gibson County Superior Court since 1985. In addition, Judge Penrod serves Oakland City University as an adjunct instructor of Business and Criminal Justice and is a faculty member of the National Judicial College.
