EDUC-312 Corrective Reading

Designed to examine current research, assessment, and methods designed to assist academically challenged children in attaining essential reading skills. Included are both qualitative and quantitative assessment procedures. Field experiences are designed to assist the pre-service teacher in developing skills working with children with reading problems. 

Includes diverse field experiences and collaboration with school and community in which candidates encourage the development of problem solving by constructing a variety of opportunities for K-6 students. As a culmination of the field experience component candidates are required to evaluate and reflect upon his/her teaching potential, practice in light of research, assess impact on student learning, and overall professional growth as related to the promotion and well-being of children. (Same as SPED 312.)
