Graduation Held at Indiana State Prison

Recently, Oakland City University and Indiana State Prison held its annual graduation ceremony.  Oakland City was proud to present diplomas of completion to 27 TASC (High School Equivalency) graduates and five Culinary Arts graduates. Additionally, one offender received his Bachelor's Degree from Oakland City University.

Speakers included Deputy Warden of Re-Entry Dawn Buss, Oakland City University Site Coordinator Greg Jones, and Student/Tutor Brad Crowder. Ms. Buss congratulated the graduates and welcomed their family members who attended.

Oakland City University is a private institution that was founded in 1885. In August 2012, Oakland City University partnered with the Indiana Department of Correction to provide adult educational services comprised of TASC (High School Equivalency), literacy and vocational programs to adult offenders statewide.
