Dunivan as Interim Executive Director
Dr. Daniel Dunivan came to Oakland City University as a student and along the way landed his dream job as the provost/vice president of academic affairs. Dr. Dunivan has been a part of the Oakland City University Family for fifteen years.
“I remember the day that I came here as a student to visit campus it felt like home,” Dunivan stated. He had such a great experience at Oakland City University as a student it inspired him to stay on campus to ensure that every student had as great of an experience and felt as valued as he did. He continued, “I had people at the university that were invested in me as an individual and I want to provide that same kind of atmosphere for students and for them to receive that same kind of love and attention.”
Before coming to Oakland City University, Dunivan grew up in South East Missouri on his parent’s farm. He and his family will be returning to his hometown as he takes on a new role as Interim Executive Director of the General Association of General Baptists at the General Baptists Headquarters in Poplar Bluff Missouri. Dr. Dunivan will be taking a leave of absence from his Provost position but will remain active in the life of the university overseeing several projects including HLC accreditation visits. Dr. Ron Dempsey, president of OCU, will serve as Acting Provost during this time.
