Food Services

The dining hall is closed for the summer holidays, and will re-open with regular hours on Monday, August 17th.

Dining services at Oakland City University are operated by Pioneer College Caterers

Did you know commuters can purchase flex points for use in the dining hall, Oaks and Holy Grounds?!?!

Meal Plan Options

Resident students may choose from two meal plan options:

  • 19-Meal Plan – Includes up to 19 meals per week for the student.
  • Block-185 Plan – Includes 185 meals per semester; up to five meals per meal period may be used for the student's friends and family.
  • Flex Accounts – On campus students automatically receive $50/semester in Flex Money, which can be used at the Dining Hall, The Oaks, and Holy Grounds. Commuter students also have access to flex accounts.

Exchange Meals

Both meal plans (the 19-Meal Plan and the Block-185 Plan) allow students to take up to 10 "exchange" meals each semester in The Oaks (the retail dining operation) in place of the same number of dining hall meals. Exchange meals may be taken Monday through Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Treats are available to be ordered for Birthdays, Holidays and Exams.  Fill out the form to order yours today.

Holy Grounds Hours

Monday - Thursday from 7:00am - 9:00pm
Fridays from 7:00am - 6:00pm

  • Breakfast: hot and cold offerings, a make-your-own Belgian waffle station with toppings, and a make-your-own omelet station
  • Traditional line with two entrees and accompaniments
  • Grill line with a rotating selection of progressively prepared sandwiches and sides
  • Specialty line with rotating themes
  • Sub-Zone, featuring made-to-order sub sandwiches on freshly baked sub buns
  • Soup & salad bar with a great variety of selections
  • Desserts: baked desserts, fresh fruit, ice cream, and more

Events Scheduled for 2015 Homecoming & Oaktober Fest

Oakland City University has scheduled several events for October 2015  Homecoming and Oaktober Fest. This year's schedule of event's includes (all events listed in central time):

Friday, October 23rd:

Blue and White Day - Wear school colors to show your suppor at the Pep Rally and Bonfire.

3:30pm: Pep Rally

4:30pm: Bonfire featuring live music, food, and hayrides

Saturday, October 24th:

Homecoming Day - exciting events will be happening on campus throughout the day.

11:00am - 2:00pm: Homecoming Festival at Tichenor Center
Includes a home run derby, dunking booth, cake walk, bouncy house, corn hole, chili cook-off, hay rides, and more!

11:30am: Alumni Home Run Derby

12:00 noon: Alumni Baseball Game

2:15pm: Homecoming Crowning

Monday, October 26th:

Jersey Day - Faculty staff and students are invited to wear their favorite jersey to campus.

7:00pm: Kickball Event

Tuesday, October 27th:

Patriotic Day - Wear your red, white, and blue. There will e door prizes for best patriotic dress.

7:00pm: Volleyball Game

Wednesday, October 28th:

Twin Day - Find a friend and dress alike.

7:00pm: Twin-Off Event

8:12pm: the 812, followed by Free Pie

Thursday, October 29th:

Costume Day - Students, faculty, and staff are invited to dress up for Halloween on campus. Please remember to keep costumes OCU appropriate.

7:00pm - 8:00pm: Trick the Halls, where members of the community can trick-or-treat in the dorms

8:00pm - 9:00pm: Trick the Halls Festival Activities

9:00pm: Costume Contest

Grand Opening of Holy Grounds a Success

The new campus coffee shop, Holy Grounds, held it's official grand opening on Friday, September 6th from 11am-1pm. 

The event started with a ribbon cutting by OCU President, Dr. Ray Barber and Holy Grounds manager Erin Smithers.

After the ribbon cutting the shop was open for business with discounts on Starbucks brand products, as well as free cookies and brownies during the event.

Door prizes were awarded thoughout the grand opening celebration and live music was provided by Michael Wilson.

A total of over 100 customers came through during this 2 hour period.
