OCU Sets Up Storm Relief FundAugust 3, 2012 at 1:26 PM
On Tuesday, July 31, 2012, the Oakland City area was hit with a ‘macroburst ‘ storm resulting in 110 mph wind and hail storm causing extensive damage. The majority of the damage was centered on the residential area and the OCU campus. Numerous trees were brought down by the heavy winds. OCU experienced broken windows, roof damage to the Kennedy Center, damage at several residence halls, and damage to the President’s home.
A cleanup effort is currently underway on the campus and the city. Many of you have responded to the call for volunteers and many who could not volunteer have desired to make financial gifts to assist with the cleanup. Due to this response, we have established a “Storm Relief Fund” for others who would like to give. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
There are three ways to give:
- Mail your check designated “Storm Relief Fund” to OCU, 138 N Lucretia St., Oakland City, IN 47660.
- Call (812)749-1228 and give by phone (please be patient, phone service is still intermittent);
- Go online at www.ocuadvancement.com. Click on “Storm Relief Fund” to designate your gift.
No gift is too small to make a difference. We appreciate our OCU family and friends that have gone the extra mile. We are so blessed to have you partner with us. Please accept our heartfelt thanks and keep us in your prayers.
