OCU Participating in (INCSAPPP) Indiana Campus Sexual Assault Primary Prevention ProjectFebruary 20, 2013 at 10:14 AM
What is INCSAPPP?
INCSAPPP is mini-grant project that is coordinated by the Student Wellness Office at Purdue University and funded by the Indiana State Department of Health, CDC Rape Prevention Education grant. The focus for the grant is to increase the capacity of Indiana colleges and universities toward primary prevention of sexual assault through training, technical assistance, campus coalition building, and mini-grants.
Meeting the requirements for the grant involves implementing instruments on campus to collect needed data about sexual violence. The data collected will provide needed information for coalition and help guide the development of the “problem statement.” The problem statement will be developed and used to guide our social marketing campaign here on campus.
The coalition is focused on developing a social marketing campaign that truly meets the needs of the students at Oakland City University. In order to complete this task, we need faculty and staff support. We are asking that you notify and remind students to access the web address and login code listed below:
- In addition to the collection of data to meet the requirements for the INCSAPPP grant, we have collaborated with Indiana University to include questions pertaining to the use and abuse of drugs/alcohol.
- We have also collaborated with Gibson County’s Healthy Communities Tobacco Free grant by adding two questions to survey that pertain to tobacco use on campus.
STUDENT RESPONSES ARE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL. STUDENTS WHO PARTICIPATE WILL BE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RUNNING FOR 1 OF 4 $25 GIFT CARDS. The gift cards will range from gas cards, restaurant cards, and a Wal-Mart gift card.
The purpose of the survey is to provide needed information to meet program/grant requirements.
