OCU Hosts Final Indiana Exhibit of “Houses and Letters”October 15, 2012 at 9:23 AM
The Dunn Gallery is currently hosting the Lanore Cady Memorial Art Exhibit. This is one of the most unusual and amazing exhibits we have had in the gallery. Lanore Cady was a native Hoosier who excelled in watercolor, calligraphy and poetry. She combined all three in her “Houses and Letters” exhibit. This is the first time in 30 years that this “Houses and Letters” exhibit (26 pieces) has been displayed in one show. It is also the last time for this show to be seen in Indiana. Upon the closing of the show on Nov. 9th, her art will be shipped to its permanent home in a museum in California. We are truly honored to host this exhibit.
Please take some time to visit this unique exhibit. You will enjoy the beautiful watercolors of old Victorian homes and be entertained by Lanore’s whimsical and poignant poetry. She also worked in sculpture and stone carving. Don’t miss the pieces that are displayed in the hallways of Cornwell Reed as well as the Gallery. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience the work of Lanore Cady. You will be glad you did.
