OCU Baseball Falls in Regional Tournament in Extra InningsMay 14, 2010 at 9:32 AM
OCU faced Tennessee Temple University in the NCCAA Regional Baseball Tournament on Thursday, May 13, losing 9-5 in extra innings. After falling behind 2-0 after two innings, and 3-0 after three and a half innings, the Oaks scored one run in the bottom of the fourth and one run in the bottom of the fifth to cut the lead to one run at 3-2. Tennessee Temple responded by scoring one run in the top of the sixth and one in the top of the seventh to take a 5-2 lead into OCU's final chance. The Oaks rallied, thanks to a two run double by senior John Feltner and a one run double by freshman Logan Mohr to tie the game at 5-5 and force the decision to be made in extra innings. Tennessee Temple, however, scored four runs on four hits and one walk in the top of the eighth inning and the Oaks were unable to respond with any scoring and the Oaks were eliminated from the tournament 9-5 in eight innings of play. Tennessee Temple will face the loser of the Covenant College vs. King College game while the Oaks must wait to see if they will receive an at-large bid to the NCCAA National Tournament.
