OCU Announces New Provost

Oakland City University is pleased to announce that Dr. Jeffrey G. McNabb has agreed to serve as the Provost for the University. Dr. McNabb comes to Oakland City University with a wide array of experiences in higher education.  Dr. McNabb has served as an Associate Professor of Manufacturing and Construction Technology, Professor of Applied Engineering and Technology Management, Associate Dean of the College of Technology at Indiana State University, and the Interim Dean of the College of Technology at Indiana State University.  During the past year he has served as the Associate Dean of the School of Education at Marian University in Indianapolis. 

Dr. McNabb has been involved in the facilitation of multiple accreditation assessments, resulting in substantial increases in enrollment, grant funding and assessment success and retention. 

Dr. McNabb received his Bachelor of Science and his Master’s of Science in Industrial Technology Education from Indiana State University.  He also completed a Master’s of Science degree in Music Technology for IUPUI in Indianapolis, Indiana.   Additionally, Dr. McNabb received his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, Technology Education from Indiana State University at Terre Haute, Indiana and completed a Certificate in Management from Harvard Graduate School of Education, Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2009. 

Dr. McNabb is familiar with Oakland City University as he began his career here at OCU as the Director of Project Upward Bound/Assistant Professor of Education in 1994.  Oakland City University wishes to extend a warm welcome to Dr. McNabb as the newest member of our academic family.  Dr. McNabb will assume his duties as Provost on June 1, 2012.
