Continuing a tradition of service begun over a century ago (1885), Oakland City University has now begun to offer fully online degree programs. Beginning May 2012, the University will offer the Associate of Arts in Religious Studies, the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and the Master of Business Administration fully online.
The Associate of Arts in Religious Studies (AARS) is a two-year fully online program designed to prepare students for the challenges of ministry in contemporary society. Students receive training in foundational studies that can be applied to any career path, as well as training in religious studies. Academic studies at Oakland City University provide students with a Christian worldview to enhance not only job and ministry performance, but daily living.
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) is a four-year fully online program offered in two concentrations: management, and human resources. Both concentrations provide students with training in core business practices essential for success in a competitive job market. Graduates from a BSBA degree program position themselves to earn on average 27 percent more than graduates who have only earned an associate degree. The BSBA curriculum is also designed to prepare graduates to continue their education through the Master of Business Education (MBA) if they so choose.
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a one-year fully online program designed to provide students with advanced skills and strategies in business leadership and management. Subject areas of study include finance, accounting, leadership, management, and economics. Graduates from a MBA degree program earn on average 16 percent more than those who have only earned a bachelor degree.
Online courses at Oakland City University are designed to be completed over 8-weeks. Each week students dialogue with the instructor and each other via discussion forums, e-mail, chat rooms, etc. Access to classroom resources is 24/7, allowing students the flexibility to pursue their studies when it is most convenient for them.
