Oakland City Mighty Oaks Prevail Over PrincipiaApril 13, 2010 at 3:57 PM
Oakland City University hosted the Panthers from Principia College Wednesday night in the Johnson Center the day after returning from thier most recent games in Hawaii.
Principia, entering the night with a 1-5 record, played tough, but were unable to hold off the taller and quicker Oaks. Oakland City led at halftime by a score of 30-23 and had only built the lead to eight with thirteen minutes remaining in the game before going on 12-0 run to push the lead to twenty with just over ten minutes left. Principia did their best to come back, but the Oaks were able to hold them off, winning with the final score being 75-58.
The Oaks were led in scoring by Nathan Schumacher with 20 points to go with his game high 13 rebounds. Jared Maners added 19 points of his own. Zach Adams came off the bench to score 11 points in only 12 minutes of play. Josh Maggard dished out a game high 8 assists. The Panthers were led in scoring by Sam Douglas who scored a game high 28 points.
