Nashville, TN - The Mighty Oaks traveled to Lipscomb University to take on the NCAA Division I Bisons Saturday night. After leading 20-19 ten minutes into the game and seeing a tie game at 33-33, the Mighty Oaks held with the Bison through the first half, trailing at halftime 41-49. Oakland City came out in the second half with back to back baskets by Jared Maners to cut the lead to three. Josh Wilmes’s jumper cut the lead to one at 51-50 with just under seventeen minutes to play in the game, but that would be the last time the game would be close. Lipscomb went on a 31-4 run to put the game away. Only six OCU players played more than seven minutes compared to eleven Lipscomb players. The Mighty Oaks were led in scoring by Jared Maners and Josh Maggard with sixteen points apiece. Nate Schumacher’s streak of consecutive games with double figure scoring and rebounding ended at three as he scored eleven points and had nine rebounds.
