Oakland City University women's soccer coach Dave Morris announced the addition of North Knox High School goalkeeper and three-sport athlete Eleni Moreland to the Lady Oak soccer program.
Eleni, the daughter of John and Larisa Moreland, lettered multiple times in soccer, basketball, and softball at North Knox High School and led the team as goalkeeper under coach Bob Evans. At North Knox, she holds records for saves in a game, saves in a season and saves in a career. She was also nominated for All-Area, All-Conference for three years, Top Team Player of the State two years, Team MVP, and Defensive MVP two Years. She is also involved with student council, National Honor Society, Students Against Destructive Decisions, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Totem yearbook staff, and a mentor for the North Knox elementary schools.
Eleni says, "I plan on majoring in social work/psychology. I am excited to play at the collegiate level and couldn't do it without the support and encouragement of my friends, family, and coaches. I would also like to thank God for giving me the ability to play. " Coach Morris added, “We are excited to add a young woman who is a great all-around athlete to our program. On her visit with us she really fit in with our team and it was obvious that Eleni is going to be a successful student-athlete here at Oakland City University on every level.”
