Rachel Bowling, from Salem, Indiana, and a member of the Salem High School soccer team, announced her decision to join the Oakland City University Lady Oaks soccer team in the 2012 season.

Coming from a small town, OCU felt like the perfect fit for Bowling. "I am from a small town," states Bowling, "Everyone knows everyone. I have always played sports and been active. I love soccer, softball and basketball. I am really looking forward to going to Oakland City and being a part of their soccer program. I hope to further my skills and be useful to the team."

A four-year varsity award winner in soccer, basketball and softball, Bowling received All-Conference honors, as well as being named Most Valuable Player and Best Defensive Player her senior season. In basketball, she was named Best Defensive Player.

"I would like to thank Coach Gary Brown, my high school coach. I would not have been able to accomplish any of this without him. Thanks, Gary!"
