Lady Oaks Lose Season Opener at Kentucky WesleyanApril 19, 2010 at 2:16 PM
Owensboro, KY - The Lady Oaks basketball team travelled to Kentucky Wesleyan Tuesday night for their season opener. Oakland City gave up 46 points in the first half while scoring only 28 themselves. The Lady Oaks were able to improve their defense in the second half but it was not enough to overcome the deficit and Oakland City lost 83-61.
Senior Krisi McVey led the way for the Oaks with 11 points, shooting 7-11 from the free throw line. She also posted a game high 4 steals. Jane Barclay led the team in rebounding with 8 as well as contributing 3 steals of her own. The game's leading scorer was Kentucky Wesleyan's Jordan Ogle with 17.
The Lady Oaks next game is scheduled for Saturday, November 21, at 1:00 pm in the Johnson Center against OSU-Mansfield.
