Coach Nichols announces the third signing for the 2010 Lady Oaks Soccer Team. Carmen Van Winkle, a Forest Park High School senior, has chosen to play soccer for Oakland City University next season. Van Winkle has been a four year starter on her soccer team while playing basketball and running track. She scored 50 career high school goals, second most in school history, while dishing out 17 assists. She is a three time Golden Foot award winner, three time All-Conference, three time Conference Champion, two time first team All-District, two time MVP, two time All-District Showcase participant, two time Team Co-Captain, and a member of the first Sectional Championship team in school history.

Van Winkle is expected to play up top, opposite Megan Nanney, to provide more scoring for the Lady Oaks. "I am excited about Carmen wanting to come to OCU and play soccer," said Coach Nichols, "She will help us out a lot as we look to increase our goal production. We are getting together a group of players that can really make that happen." She plans to major in Elementary Education while attending Oakland City University.
