Dr. Barber Welcomes Students

August 30, 2011 at 10:47 AM

Oakland City University is proud of its student body.  OCU’s students come from various parts of the country and world.  Each student is equipped with different talents and gifts, which gives our campus its own unique atmosphere and diversification.

Oakland City University has a rich history dating back to 1885.  It maintains its heritage by providing student-centered liberal arts programs.  Woven into the fabric of our courses is the seam of the Christian spirit, which shapes students with an ethical system to sustain them as global citizens.  Ultimately, our goal is to provide each student with the pragmatic skills required to serve in the market places of the world.

I feel privileged to be a part of this university and invite you to become involved in some of the campus activities.  Join one of the many clubs or organizations involved with student life.  Attend one of the weekly chapel services or become involved in one of the athletic programs.  Find an acquaintance, make a visit to the OAKS, and discover the joy of friendship.

Enjoy this academic year.  Beth and I look forward to seeing you at various events throughout the semester.  If you spot us, please take a few minutes to introduce yourself.  We would love to meet you.
