December 16, 2011, graduates will be invited to attend the Graduation Ceremony on May 5, 2012. The 10:00 am ceremony will be for the Undergraduate students from Main Campus. The 1:00 pm ceremony will be for the AEL students and the Graduate students (ASBA, BSBA, MBA, MAT, MDIV, DMIN and EDD).
Caps and Gowns
All students who participate in the Commencement Program are required to purchase and wear academic caps and gowns. Caps and Gowns are purchased from our OCU bookstore. The deadline for ordering them without expedited shipping and late fees is April 16, 2012. After that date a late charge of $20.00 and an expedited shipping charge will be added to the order. Caps and gowns are ordered through Herff Jones.
The graduation fee is $75.00 and must be paid in the Business Office before you can receive your diploma. This is a fee that is charged regardless of your attendance at the ceremony. The fee covers the expenses of diplomas, diploma covers, honor cords, mailing expenses, programs, etc.
ALL diplomas will be mailed via certified mail. Please allow at least 6 weeks after the end of the Fall semester for delivery. ALL OBLIGATIONS to the University (dorm fees, library delinquencies, tuition, graduation fees, etc) must be satisfied before a diploma can be mailed, a transcript released, or teacher certification secured. The Business Office on the main campus is open daily from 8:30 am to 4:00pm. Financial Aid Exit Interviews must also be completed before a transcript or diploma can be released. Diplomas for Graduates of the AEL program will not be ordered until after all requirements are met.
Transcripts must be ordered from the Registrar’s Office. Student may go to the OCU website home page and clicking on “Forms” at the bottom of the page to get the form . No free transcripts are given. No transcript can be sent without the student’s signature. Students requesting transcripts must have a clear account with the Business Office and Financial Aid Exit Interviews must be completed before the request is filled.
All grades, incomplete grades, work experience, etc. must be completed and on file in the Academic Affairs Office by 4:30 pm on Friday, December 16.
December 2011 Graduates
You will be receiving your diploma and honor cords (if earned) via certified mail. If you are going to attend the May ceremony, you will need to bring your honor cords with you.
The President will be handing you another diploma cover as you walk across the stage.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, you will need to return the cover he gives you. A box will be located in the hallway as you leave the gym to place it in.
