OPTION I - Career Changes

Option I is designed for professionals who have already acquired a baccalaureate degree in a content area, non-teaching, and have decided they want to change to a career in education at the elementary or secondary level. Option I may take more than fifteen months if a deficiency in content area is identified. The PRAXIS I must be completed and passed prior to admission. The PRAXIS II must also be completed and passed for secondary majors prior to admission. The PRAXIS II and Reading Specialist exam must be passed prior to student teaching for elementary majors. A criminal record check is also required before student teaching. Student teaching during the spring semester for sixteen weeks is required for all Option I students.

OPTION II - Continuing Education

Option II is designed to be an induction model for new teachers and a continuing professional education model for experienced educators.

OPTION III - Administrative Track

Option III is for persons who are seeking advanced study and administrative licensure.  It is designed to be an induction model for new principals.
