Scholarships

Oakland City University is committed to working with students and their families to ensure that private Christian education is affordable.  Our desire is to assist students as they make financial decisions about college.  Oakland City offers several forms of financial assistance to students based on academic achievement, athletic ability, and financial need.  We also assist students with getting the most from government financial aid.  Our financial aid professionals are here to help you navigate the processes.  Please take time to review our financial aid and scholarship pages to see how you can receive a private, quality Christian education at an affordable price.  We look forward to assisting you through the process and invite you to contact us with your questions.

Each year, Oakland City University students receive millions of dollars in financial assistance.  We are committed to working with you to find a financial solution that allows you to meet your educational goals.

  • University scholarships are awarded only to traditional undergraduate students at the Oakland City University main campus.
  • Scholarships are awarded to students at the discretion of the University.  All scholarships are awarded pending the receipt of the student’s final high school transcripts and/or college transcripts and standardized test scores by the Office of Admissions.

Based on your situation, you may qualify for merit based, endowed, or athletic scholarships.

Merit Based Scholarship

All students meeting the entrance eligibility requirements set forth by the University qualify for merit based aid.  These awards are based on a combination of your high school GPA and standardized test scores.  GPA is based on the student’s final high school transcript on a 4.0 scale.  All merit based scholarships are renewable for 120 credit hours, provided that the student maintains the required 2.5 cumulative GPA.   For more information regarding scholarships please call the OCU Office of Admissions at: (800-737-5125).

Endowed Scholarship

Endowed scholarships offered by the University are specific to areas of study and/or other criteria.  All students are eligible to apply for institutional aid.  The process involves an application procedure through the Financial Aid Office.  Please contact the Financial Aid Office for further details.

Athletic Scholarship
