Angel Tree is a volunteer activity of the Oakland City University Business Professionals of America (BPA) organization.
Each year at Christmas time, the members make Christmas tree ornaments listing the gender and age of an elementary-school-age child who will receive gifts. Faculty, staff, and students at OCU take an ornament and buy one or more gifts for the child represented by the ornament. BPA members then collect and wrap the gifts and deliver them to the child's school. There the child's parents pick up the gifts to place them under the family's Christmas tree.
The project benefits children in the community and helps BPA members learn to organize a volunteer program, interact with the community, and understand the truth that "it is better to give than to receive."
