Dave Morris - Womens Soccer Coach,
Dave Morris is completing his first year as an assistant professor and women's soccer coach at Oakland City University. In his first year at OCU, the women's soccer team made tremendous progress on and off the field. The Lady Oaks had their first All-American since 2003, Carmen Van Winkle, the NCAA Division II national scoring leader for the 2011 season. As a team, the Lady Oaks were honored with the NSCAA Team Ethics Award for sportsmanship, and the NSCAA Team Academic Award as well.
In the classroom, Dave teaches a wide variety of courses in Health & Physical Education as well as World Civilizations. His Masters thesis was about the relationship between young athletes getting to touch the ball in games and their retention between seasons, his honors thesis at the University of Michigan studied the political evolution of Japan under Oda Nobunaga, a medieval warlord who became Shogun and set the country on the path to unification.
