2007 President’s Award
The graduate selected for the President’s Award for 2007 comes from Vincennes, IN. Throughout his career at OCU, this graduate has demonstrated academic excellence, personal and professional growth, and a strong commitment to Christian values. He is well recognized on campus as a servant leader, motivating and challenging his peers. This graduate has touched many lives at OCU and is respected by students, staff, faculty, and administration alike.
This graduate has pursued a major in business administration, marketing, and has accepted full-time employment in that area. In all his classes, he has been an active participant who routinely collaborated with his peers and contributed valuable insights to class discussions. He recently received honors for a research project in his program’s capstone course and will graduate today magna cum laude.
In addition to these academic pursuits, this graduate has served the university as a member of student government, as student government president, and as a student ambassador. He continues to be very active in his church. His positive attitude, irresistible enthusiasm, and constant smile has
impacted the campus throughout his time at OCU.
This graduate has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic as well as a conscientious concern for his fellow man. A member of the OCU staff recently stated, “This graduate is the epitome of a successful student at Oakland City University. During his senior year of high school, he applied to another university but was not granted admission. Thankfully, he decided to look further into OCU and the rest is history.” The Oakland City University family is fortunate this graduate chose OCU to prepare for his future.
It is a sincere pleasure to announce that this year’s recipient of the President’s Award is Mr. Brent Magruder.
