SCA to Host Chili Supper
The Oakland City University Student Christian Association (SCA)
is trying to reach out to the community by providing a meal for them this upcoming Thursday, October 27th. The meal includes some great chili prepared by Randy Creasman, some cornbread, and PB&J will be provided for kids or anyone who does not like chili.
Tickets for the meal are $5 and can be purchased at the door. The Chili Supper will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Oakland City, IN from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
The focus of this event is to get people into a church where the SCA can meet their needs and make them feel welcomed. SCA hopes to get to know guests personally and use the event as a way to collect ideas for future service projects.
The SCA will be handing out tickets to the community this Friday night so that they can come for free. Students and faculty are asked to come and help support this event by being there for the community and to help finance this dinner. Donations in excess of the cost of the dinner will go toward the Backpack Program which will help feed children of low income families over the weekend.
