Assistant Director for the Career Crossings Office

Saipan Community School Hiring Teacher Positions:

Saipan Community School is located on the beautiful tropical island of Saipan within the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. The island offers a broad range of outdoor sports, leisure, and aquatics activities; and our tropical climate means that outdoor activities are available year round. The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands affords a low income tax rate through a generous rebate system. Saipan Community School is a small mission school serving the community of Saipan through quality Christian education. This past year, we had approximately 120 students from K-8th grade.

Saipan Community School is recognized island-wide for its academic excellence.  The school uses stateside public school textbooks for its basic curriculum, and the Bible materials are published by the Association of Christian Schools International.  In addition to core subjects, each students is also trained in Art, Music, Computers, and PE.  Band is offered as an elective for students in 4th-8th grades and Ukulele is offered for students 3rd-8th grades.  Students participate in sporting competitions sponsored by the Public School System and as a part of the Private Schools Sports League.  The students successfully compete in Mathcounts, the Scripps-Howard Spelling Bee, a school-wide Science Fair, Book Fair, Art Show and Cultural Day.  In the most recent NJFL (National Junior Forensics League) competition, Saipan Community School sent three students out of nine on island to compete in the National competition in Salt Lake City,UT which they excelled. Valedictorian Kate Ishida placed 4th while the others advanced to quarterfinals and semifinal rounds.

Qualifications:  At least 18 years of age; have CDA, Associate or Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) OR currently enrolled and in the process of attaining CDA, Associate or Bachelor Degree in ECE (must be completed within 2 years of hire);

Prefer previous experience working with 3-5 year old children in a preschool setting.

Current ECE students that are available between the hours of 8-Noon are encouraged to apply.

Description: Substitute-Head Start-Any Dubois, Pike or Warrick County Head Start Site.

Responsibilities include working as a member of the Head Start team to perform various duties that will reflect the needs of the staff, families and children in our program. There are no guaranteed hours with this position. Will be called as needed to fill in as a Lead Teacher, Assistant Teacher, Cook, etc.
