Lori Stolz ATC/LAT
Lori Stolz is starting
her fifth year at Oakland City University. Lori and her husband Joshua Stolz and
they reside in Oakland City.
While at Oakland City University she has
"perhaps" become the department of athletics "most valuable
person". Lori works with the 200+ student athletes in
prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries. In addition to
her
athletic training duties, Lori also teaches in the department of physical
education.
Lori came to Oakland City from Indiana
State University in Terre Haute,
where she did her graduate work and obtained a Masters of Science in
Athletic Training. At ISU Lori was the athletic trainer for the softball
team. While at Indiana State, she also had the opportunity to work a
basketball game for the Harlem Globetrotters, and to work several sessions
of the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. Lori graduated from the University
of
Wisconsin - La Crosse in May of 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree
in
Athletic Training. Both Indiana State University and the University
of
Wisconsin - La Crosse have nationally known accredited athletic training
programs.
While at UW - La Crosse, she had the opportunity to
work with varsity teams
in softball, tennis, basketball, track, football, and baseball. Two
notable
teams were the men's indoor and outdoor track teams during her junior
year.
Both teams were NCAA Division III National Champions. Lori was an assistant
athletic trainer for the indoor team and the head athletic trainer for
the
outdoor team.
Lori attended Milwaukee Lutheran High School in Milwaukee
WI, where she
participated in swimming, volleyball, and softball. In softball, during
her
senior year, she earned first team all conference designated hitter
honors,
and was named to the state private school All Academic Team. Twice during
her high school years, Milwaukee Lutheran awarded her the Christian
Leadership Award; once for volleyball and once for softball. It was
during
her senior year in high school that she developed a keen interest in
Athletic Training.
Lori is excited to be at Oakland City and is continually
working to develop
a strong athletic training program for the Mighty Oaks.
