Bethel College 90 - Grace College 81

Bethel College is the 2007 National Champions of the NCCAA, Division I. Down 73-71 with 3.4 seconds on the clock, Marcus Moore of Grace College had the most pressure on his shoulders any athlete could have. Fouled by Bethel's Jon Zeser while shooting a three for the win, Moore now had to sink three straight free throws to win the National Championship. The young man showed all the poise of a champion, but the ball bounced away and a tie was the best that could happen. And it did, nothing but net on the next two and the score was tied 73-73.

A last ditch effort by Bethel was futile and we are in OVERTIME. What else could one expect. These MCC foes had played 3 previous times this season, 2 of those contest were also ovettimes, which they split. In the three previous games, a total of 8 points had seperated the teams, and now they are 2-2 for this season. Rivals in regular season, foes in the Championship. Two great schools and coaches have guided their players to the place they both wanted, and as the cliche' says, "it is truely a shame someone had to lose".

O by the way, Mark Lettinga had 25 points and 12 rebounds for the winners, supported by Tyler Brown's 23, William Walker's 22 and 11 boards, Jon Zeser with 12.

Marcus Moore led the Lancer's with 23, Eric Gaff pitched in 14 while Kyle Johnson and Scott Moore had 13.

Congratulation to both teams for such a great display of sportsmanship in this the Finals of 2007.
