Inaugural Alumni Game a Success
The Mighty Oak soccer team hosted their inaugural alumni game on Saturday. 25 former players and two former coaches returned to test themselves against the '06 squad.
The match was played in a competitive atmosphere as the current and former Oaks strived to show each other whose era was superior. The current players were tired, playing on the back of three a days and the alumni were the same for opposite reasons. Pride was the dominant factor with a large number of friends and family looking on for both teams.
The game remained close until the second half when the superior fitness of the current crop allowed them to pull away.
An enjoyable day for current players and alumni alike had all looking forward to the second alumni game scheduled for August next year.
