The 2010 NCCAA Division 1 Men's Basketball National Tournament will be held in the Johnson Center Thursday through Saturday, March 18-20. There will be a banquet on Wednesday, March 17, to kick off the tournament. Dan Egerski, host of ESPN Radio in Evansville, Indiana, will be the keynote speaker for the evening. Tickets for the banquet may be purchased by contacting the OCU Athletic office at (812)749-1264. Eight teams from across the country will gather to face off for the title of National Champion. Northwestern College (19-7), Grace College (16-14), Geneva College (16-11), and Palm Beach Atlantic University (5-23) have all qualified thus far by means of winning their regional tournaments. Two more regional tournaments are left to be completed, with the winners each receiving a spot in the tournament. (Full story and tournament homepage) Lady Oaks Sign Marquette HS Midfielder The 2010 roster is already beginning to take shape as the Lady Oaks announce the signing of midfielder Kylee Eveans of Marquette High School in Moro, Illinois. The 5'4" Eveans, daughter of Rick and Carey Eveans, was on the State Runner-Up team in 2009 after leading her team to a record of 47-18-5 in her final three years of high school. She scored 17 goals and had 31 assists, 19 of which came in her senior campaign, in 70 games at the varsity level...(full story) Mighty Oaks Soccer Wins Spring Opener Oakland City University men's soccer started its spring season in terrific fashion on Saturday, beating NCAA D-I opponent Eastern Illinois University (EIU) by a score of 4-1. EIU finished the 2009 season with a record of 6-8-3 and plays in the Missouri Valley Conference, the same conference as local NCAA D-I school University of Evansville. Evansville won the 2009 match up between the two by the score of 2-1 in Evansville. EIU also played Asbury College during the 2009 regular season, beating them by a score of 4-0 while OCU beat Asbury 5-1...(full article) Oakland City Men Down Temple Baptist on Senior Day; Oakland City, IN - Nate Schumacher pulled down 24 rebounds and Jared Maners scored 29 points as the Mighty Oaks beat a pesky Temple Baptist team 72-57, their twelfth win in their last thirteen games. Each of the seven seniors on the team was recognized before the game. Brandon Hopf was presented with a game-ball in recognition of his 1,000 career points. Schumacher was presented with the ball used during the game at Free Will Baptist, the game in which he pulled down a school record 33 rebounds in a single game. Other seniors honored were Josh Wilmes, Craig Parks, Chris Sandifar, Noah Rasche, and Mo Kane. After two minutes ticked off the clock, the game was tied at 0-0. After that the teams traded baskets until the game was tied up again at 6-6. The Oaks defense stepped up and allowed Oakland City to go on a 13-0 run to open up a 13 point advantage with eleven and a half minutes remaining in the half. The Rams responded by going on a 10-0 run of their own to trail by only 3 points. Again the teams traded buckets until three minutes until halftime. The Oaks scored 11 of the final 13 points of the half and took an eleven point advantage into the locker room. The second half saw the Mighty Oaks score the first six points of the half, thanks to back-to-back three by Chris Sandifar and Jared Maners, to open the lead to 17. The Oaks increased the lead to as many as 21, a lead they held at 53-32, before the Rams began climbing back into the game. after a made free throw and an offensive put-back on the second free throw, the lead was cut to only nine at 60-51 with just over five minutes to play in the game. However, the Oaks were able to hang on for the win, the final score standing at 72-57. Leading the way for the Oaks was Jared Maners, who scored 29 points while blocking 2 shots. Seniors Brandon Hopf and Nate Schumacher, playing their last regular season home game, each scored 14 points. Schumacher aslo pulled down 24 rebounds, putting his career total at 744 in only two seasons, as school record. Senior Josh Wilmes, although not scoring, pulled down seven rebounds and, along with Schumacher, dished out a game high four assists. The Rams were led by Eric Head, who scored 15 points and pulled down 17 rebounds. The Oaks return to action on Monday, March 1, when they travel to face Shawnee Baptist in Louisville, Kentucky. Monday's game will be their final regular season game as they head into postseason play, hosting the NCCAA division 1 national tournament March 18-20. Baseball Opening Day Postponed Again Oakland City, IN - The decision has been made to cancel this weekend's series against St. Joseph's College due to the field being too wet to play. The next game on the schedule, Thursday, March 4, when the Mighty Oaks host Pikeville College, is still set to be played at this time. Check back for further updates.. Mighty Oaks Win Big Over St. Louis Christian Oakland City, IN - The Oakland City men's basketball team cruised to an easy victory Wednesday, February 24, in the Johnson Center, beating St. Louis Christian College by the score of 86-52. The Oaks committed only nine fouls and held the Soldiers to just under 35% shooting for the game. Senior Nate Schumacher scored the first four points of the game, but St. Louis Christian ralllied to take a one point lead at 6-7 early in the first half. The teams traded baskets until the Oaks went on a 10-2 scoring run to open up a double digit lead they would never give up as Samuel Lee, one of only two Soldiers over 6'2", got into early foul trouble. In the second half, the Oaks went on a 30-10 run to put the game out of reach for good, thanks to hot shooting from Jared Maners and solid play under the basket from seniors Nate Schumacher and Brandon Hopf. The leading scorer in the game was Jared Maners with 25 points in only 26 minutes of play. Nate Schumacher scored 20 points while pulling down a game-high 18 rebounds. Brandon Hopf tallied 15 points and Josh Wilmes added 10 points to go with his game-high four steals. Wilmes and Maners each dished out 6 assists to lead the game. St. Louis Christian College was led in scoring by Ricky Graham with 14 points, followed by Samuel Lee, who scored 11 while pulling down a team-high 9 boards while limitted to just 20 minutes due to fould trouble. The Oaks next face Temple Baptist in the Johnson Center Saturday, February 27, at 3:00 pm. Saturday's game is Senior Day, recognizing the seven seniors on the Oaks' roster as they play in their last regular season game in the Johnson Center. Lady Oaks Down Marauders in Final Regular Season Game Oakland City, IN- The Oakland City women's basketball team won their final regular season game on Tuesday, February 23, in the Johnson Center as they beat the Central State Marauders by the score of 87-79. The win moved them to 9-15 on the season, thanks to victories in their final two games. The Lady Oaks opened the game with a 15-2 scoring run, but the Marauders climbed back into the game, tying the score at 28-28 with twenty seconds remaining in the half. Sarah Roth missed a jumper, but Rachel Moore tipped in the ball as the buzzer sounded to give Oakland City a two point half-time lead. Central State took their first lead of the game early in the first half, but the Lady Oaks battled back with a 9-0 run to take the lead back. The Marauders were never able to get the lead back thanks to the Lady Oaks forcing Central State into 21 turnovers. Oakland City increased the lead to as many as 15 points, a lead they held at 78-63 with four minutes left to play, but the Marauders cut the lead to only eight with 1:30 left of the clock. Sam Stahl hit two jumpers and two free throws coming down the stretch and Rachel Moore put the game out of reach by hitting two free throws with twenty seconds left, as the Lady Oaks went on to witn, 87-79. Five Lady Oaks scored in double figures led by Sam Stahl, who scored 20 points. Ali Pia added 16, Rachel Moore and Berna Miranda 15, and Kristi McVey, playing her final game in Lady Oaks' home white, scored 11. Sarah Roth scored 8 while dishing out a game-high five assists. Moore led the team in rebounding with 9 boards. Central State was led in scoring by Linda Ubadigbo with 22. Oakland City Men Begin Home Stand with Victory; Brandon Hopf Scores 1,000 Points as a Mighty Oak Oakland City, IN - The Mighty Oaks, returning home after losing at Urbana University on Thursday, faced the Robert Morris-Springfield Eagles Saturday, February 20, in the Johnson Center, winning by the score of 100-68 and taking the first of their final three regular season games, all of which are to be played at home. After the Eagles took the opening tip, and scored three points on their first shot, the Mighty Oaks went on a 26-6 scoring run to begin the game. Oakland City connected on their first six three-point attempts as they took a twenty-four point lead into halftime at 48-24. The second half saw more of the same as the Oaks continued their hot shooting throughout the second half, connecting on 11 of their 16 three-point shots for the game while shooting nearly 55% from the field and hitting 11-14 free throws. The Eagles were able to score 44 points in the second half, but could not find a way to slow down the scoring barage of the Mighty Oaks, as Oakland City won the game by the final score of 100-68. Brandon Hopf, needing just 15 points to surpass 1,000 points in a Mighty Oaks' uniform, was able to score a game-high 22 points to put him at 1,007 for his career in just under two seasons playing for the Oaks. Josh Wilmes scored 21 points, hitting 5-7 three point attempts and 8-11 from the field total. Jared Maners scored 20 points while dishing out a game-high 8 assists, and Nate Schumacher tallied 18 counters as he pulled down a game-high 20 rebounds. The Eagles were led in scoring by Dee Purnell with 18 points. Ephrem Davis pulled down a team-high 5 rebounds while scoring 12 points and blocking 7 shots in a losing effort. The Mighty Oaks return to action Wednesday, February 24, as they take on St. Louis Christian College at 7:00 pm, and again on Saturday, February 27, when they face Temple Baptist at 3:00 pm for Senior Night. OCU Women Break Three Game Skid as they Beat Robert Morris-Springfield Oakland City, IN- The Lady Oaks returned home after playing seven straight games on the road, a streak in which they only won two games, taking on the Eagles of Robert Morris-Springfield and winning by the final score of 82-71. Senior forward Kristi McVey was recognized for her outstanding contributions to the team over her career and senior manager Stephanie Fenton was also recognized for her help this season. The Lady Oaks opened the first half moving the ball well and allowing the Lady Eagles to shoot only 27.3% from the floor to take a 29-40 halftime lead, thanks to connecting on 16-20 free throws in the half. In the second half, Robert Morris made several runs at closing their deficit, but the Lady Oaks responded every time with timely plays to pull out the victory 82-71. Oakland City was led in scoring by Kristi McVey and Sam Stahl with 18 points each. Sarah Roth added 14 points and a game- and career-high 14 rebounds. Berna Miranda scored 11 while tying McVey with a team-high five assists, while Rachel Moore scored ten points off the bench while adding six rebounds, dishing out three assists and blocking two shots. The Lady Oaks went 8-16 from beyond the three point arc and shot a solid 24-31 from the free throw line for the game. The Lady Eagles were led in scoring by Tiara Perry, who scored a game-high 28 points, and in rebounding by Jorita Wright, who pulled down ten rebounds to go with her 18 points. The Lady Oaks return to action on Tuesday, February 23, for their last home game of the season. The square off against Central State at 7:00 pm. Mighty Oaks See Nine Game Winning Streak End in Ohio Urbana, OH - The Mighty Oaks travelled to Urbana, Ohio, on Thursday, February 18, to make up their game that had been cancelled because of snow. Taking a nine game winning streak into the game, as well as having beaten Urbana earlier in the season at home, the Mighty Oaks looked to continue their winning ways but fell short, losing by only eight points, the final score being 68-76. The Oaks were led in scoring by Nate Schumacher, who tallied a double-double with game highs of 20 points and 13 rebounds. Jared Maners added 16 points, Josh Wilmes had 11 points, and Brandon Hopf had a double-double of his own with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Blue Knights were led in scoring by Robert Wilson, who scored18 points, and in rebounding by Clint Nicholson who pulled down seven rebounds to go with his 11 points, all off the bench. The Mighty Oaks will look to get back to their winning ways on Saturday, February 20, as they take on Robert Morris-Springfield in the Johnson Center at 3:00 pm. Lady Oaks Lose Again, Return Home At Last Urbana, OH- Oakland City travelled to make up their game against Urbana University Thursday night, losing by the final score of 61-72, despite winning the turnover battle by six. The Lady Oaks were led in scoring Kristi McVey, who scored a team high 19 points and 9 rebounds, followed by Rachel Moore who came off the bench to add 12 points to the cause. Sam Stahl, who shot a season low 1-12 from the field and scored only four points, dished out a team high four assists in a losing effort. The Lady Blue Knights were led in scoring by Unique Lane, who scored a game high 26 points. Andrea Vogel tallied a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds. The Lady Oaks return to action in a must-win game Saturday, February 20, in the Johnson Center as they take on Robert Morris-Springfield at 1:00 pm. Oakland City Routs Knoxville for Ninth Straight Win Oakland City, IN - The Mighty Oaks hosted the Knoxville College Bulldogs in the Johnson Center on Wednesday, February 3, exactly one year after beating them 106-90. Knoxville, trying to rebuild their program after having cancelled it earlier in the year, lost by the final score of 102-45. The Oaks opened the game with a 21-7 scoring run and never looked back as the visiting Bulldogs were never able to even tie the game after the opening tip. The Mighty Oaks were able to increase their lead to 22 at 35-13, but the Bulldogs went on a small 5-0 run to cut the lead to 17. Oakland City responded by going on an 18-7 run to close out the first half with a twenty-eight point advantage at 53-25. The second half saw the Mighty Oaks open by scoring the first sixteen points of the half to push their lead to 44 with just over thirteen minutes remaining. Knoxville was unable to make any significant push in the game as they were held to a dismal 30.3% shooting from the field along with a 15.4% from the free throw line. This compared to Oakland City's 52.6% field goal percentage and a season-best 91.7% from the line. The Mighty Oaks were led in scoring by Brandon Hopf with 22 as he makes his run at 1,000 points in an Oaks uniform. He now stands at 975 points for his Mighty Oak career. Nate Schumacher scored 16 points while pulling down a game-high 20 rebounds. Craig Parks came off the bench to score 14 points and Jared Maners added 11. Josh Maggard scored 8 points while leading the game in assists with 11 while snatching a team-high 2 steals and blocking one shot. Every Mighty Oaks scored, except for Brett Wilson. Mo Kane and Alfredo Aquino each tallied 6 points on 2-4 shooting off the bench. Knoxville was led in scoring by Raymond Jones with 21 points. Leon Boddie, Jr. scored 12 points while pulling down a team-high 10 rebounds. Next up for the Mighty Oaks is Urbana University on Saturday, February 6, in Urbana Ohio. The game is scheduled to tip off at 3:00 pm. Oakland City edged out Urbana 80-74 on January 16, in the Johnson Center. Mighty Oaks Take Seventh In a Row With Victory Over Ohio State University-Marion Oakland City, IN - The Mighty Oaks scored 53 while allowing only 17 points in the first half on their way to an easy 96-47 victory over the visiting OSU-Marion Scarlet Wave on Saturday afternoon in the Johnson Center. Oakland City opened the game by making their first ten jumpers to open up a 26-4 lead midway through the first half. The Scarlet Wave was able to steady the scoring somewhat, but the Oaks finished the half with a 16-3 run to take a 53-17 lead into the locker room. The second half saw more of the same from the Oaks as they never let up in either their defense or their scoring. Mo Kane, scoring for only the second game this season and seeing over ten minutes of action for the first time, scored a season high 8 points while pulling down 4 rebounds as the Oaks cruised to an easy victory to push their season record to 14-6. Leading the way for the Oaks were seniors Brandon Hopf and Nate Schumacher with 16 points each followed by Jared Maners, Josh Maggard and Chris Sandifar with 9 points. Schumacher pulled down a game-high 9 rebounds. Josh Maggard dished out a game-high 7 assists followed closely by Jared Maners with 6. OSU-Marion was led in scoring by Brandon Geiger with 18 points. Mark McDuffie added 12 points and Kenny Hosp pulled down a team-high 5 rebounds in a losing effort. The Oaks play again in the Johnson Center Wednesday, February 3, when they take on the Knoxville College Bulldogs. The game tips at 7:00 pm. 2010 Oakland City University Baseball Season Outlook The 2010 edition of Oakland City University Baseball comes with much higher expectations than recent years. The Mighty Oak baseball team will look to rebuild from last year’s disappointing season filled with inconsistency and attrition. This season’s squad returns four starting position players and six pitchers. With the addition of eight talented transfers and an athletic group of six freshmen, the Oaks will look to improve upon last season’s injury riddled campaign. Head coach T-Ray Fletcher’s outlook complies, “The returning young men as well as the new players have completely bought in to what we are trying to do offensively and on the mound. Oakland City University to Host Cheer Camp 2010 Oakland City University will hold a cheer camp Saturday, February 6, in the Johnson Center from 9:00 am until noon. Doors will open at 8:30 am. Participants will learn tumbling, jumps, dance, building/stunts, and cheers. The cost is $30.00 per person, which includes a participation t-shirt. Participants will need to bring a pair of gym shoes that have not been worn outside. Parents are invited to come at 11:30 am and watch the participants perform what they have learned. Age limits for campers is kindergarden through eighth grade. In order to sign up for the camp, entry forms must be filled out and turned in to Ashley Engler by February 2. OCU Beats Temple Baptist For Sixth Straight Victory Oakland City, IN - Oakland City scored over one hundred points for only the fourth time this season as they continue their winning ways by beating an athletic Temple Baptist College Rams team Saturday, January 23, in the Johnson Center. Both teams began the game shooting over sixty percent in the first ten minutes, but it was the home team that held the lead at 30-24 with ten minutes to play in the half. Temple Baptist cut the lead to three at 37-34 before Oakland City responded by going on a 10-1 run to open up their largest lead of the half at 47-35. The Rams were able to keep the rest of the half close, cutting the lead to nine at 56-47. In the second half, the Rams shooting cooled off, dropping from 54.5% in the first half to 31.1% in the second. The Might Oaks, however, were able to increase their shooting percentage from 52.4% in the first half to an even 60% in the second half. The Oaks scored the first two baskets of the second half, but the Rams responded by trimming the lead to five points at 64-59. Oakland City responded by going on a 14-4 run to take a 15 point lead at 78-63 with just over nine minutes to play. Temple Baptist was never able to get back into the game, and the Oaks continued to increase their lead, winning by 23 points, their largest lead of the game, at 103-80. Leading the way for the Oaks was Jared Maners who connected on 11-17 field goal attempts to score a game high 26 points. Brandon Hopf added 18 points, followed by Nate Schumacher and Josh Maggard with 13 points each. Maggard dished out a game high 6 assists and Scumacher pulled down a game high 16 rebounds. Jeremiah Mitchell scored 12 points for the Oaks coming off the bench. Josh Wilmes nearly tallied a double-double, pulling down 10 rebounds and scoring 9 pionts. The Rams were led in scoring by Peter Jackson with 21 points. Eric Head scored 13 points while grabbing a team leading 11 rebounds. Schumacher Sets Rebounding Record as Oaks Win Again Nashville, TN - The Oakland City Men's Basketball team traveled to face the Flames of Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville, Tennessee, on Tuesday, January 19. The Mighty Oaks came out victorious 94-53 behind Nate Schumacher's 18 points and a school record 33 rebounds. The Mighty Oaks opened the game with a 17-0 scoring run and never looked back, pushing the lead to as many as twenty-seven points before the Flames were able come back somewhat to cut the lead to twenty-three at the half at 44-21. The second half saw Oakland City open with a scoring run much like the first half, scoring the first twenty-one points of the half to open up a 44 point lead. The Flames were able to slow down the Oaks, but never were able to get the lead under 36 the rest of the game as the Mighty Oaks prevailed in their fifth straight game, winning 94-53. The Mighty Oaks were led in scoring by Brandon Hopf with 21 points followed by Nate Schumacher with 18 points and a NCAA D-II leading 33 rebounds. Jared Maners scored 17 on 6-7 shooting from the field. Josh Maggard added 14 points while dishing out a game high 8 assists and 3 steals. The Flames were led in scoring by Bradley Elkins with 19 points. The Oaks return to action Saturday, January 23, in the Johnson Center as the take on Temple Baptist. The game will tip at 3:00 pm. Oakland City Wins Homecoming Thriller Over Urbana Oakland City, IN - The Mighty Oaks, welcoming the 1960 NAIA National tournament team, hosted the Urbana University Blue Knights Saturday, January 16, in the Johnson Center. Oakland City was able to hold off the Blue Knights, thanks to Jared Maners season high 30 points, and win by the final score of 80-74. The first half saw Urbana lead the game for the first ten minutes as the Mighty Oaks struggled to find their rhythm. However, after trailing by as many as five points, Oakland City took their first lead of the game at 19-16, a lead they would never give up despite high-pressure defense by the Blue Knights. Jared Maners scored 11 in the first half and Josh Wilmes pulled down six rebounds despite getting into early foul trouble. The Blue Knights kept looking as if they would at any time take over the game, but the Mighty Oaks proved to be too much to handle as each time Urbana made a run the Mighty Oaks responded with one of their own. The Mighty Oaks were led in scoring by Jared Maners with 30 points. Nate Schumacher added 18 points and 10 rebounds. Brandon Hopf scored 17 while leading the team in rebounding with 12. Josh Maggard continued his solid play with five points, eight assists and a game high four steals. Jeremiah Mitchell, despite scoring only two points and pulling down a single rebound, held Urbana's offence in check much of the game with his stifling defense. The Mighty Oaks improved to 10-6 on the season and are set to travel to face Free Will Baptist on Tuesday, January 19, at 7:00 pm before returning home to face off against Temple Baptist Saturday, January 23, at 3:00 pm. Oakland City Women Last Home Game Until Feb. 15 Oakland City, IN - Oakland City hosted Urbana University for Homecoming/Hall-of-Fame day at the Johnson Center Saturday, January 16, losing by the final score of 80-70. It is the last home game on the schedule for the Lady Oaks for quite some time as they begin a seven game road trip over the next month. The Lady Oaks trailed by as many as fifteen points in the second half, a lead the Lady Blue Knights held at 27-12 after thirteen minutes of action. The Lady Oaks chipped away at the lead, cutting it to a managable six points at halftime at 35-29. The Lady Blue Knights pushed the lead to eleven points as they opened the second half on a 7-2 scoring run. Urbana continued to build on their lead, increasing it to as many as twenty-five points before the Lady Oaks were able to get back into the game. Oakland City, after trailing by their largest deficit of the game at 65-40, went on a 17-4 scoring run to cut the lead to twelve with just over four minutes remaining on the clock. Urbana responded quickly, four of the next five points, but back to back jumpers by Kristi McVey and solid defence brought the scoring differential back to single digits at 74-65 with less than two minutes to play. An old fashioned three point play by McVey cut the lead to seven points with just under one minute to play, but the Lady Oaks would not score again and would end up losing by ten at 80-70. Leading the way for the Lady Oaks in scoring was Kristi McVey with 22 points. She also led the team in steals with three and assists with three. Ali Pia, before going down with a neck injury with just under four minutes to play, scored 21 points to go along with her team high eight rebounds. Kayla Sutton and Sam Stahl each added eight points. Urbana was led by Andrea Vogel with 17 points, six rebounds and two blocked shots. The Lady Oaks return to action on the road as the travel to take on Brescia Tuesday, January 19, at 6:00 pm. Mighty Oaks Continue to Win, Maggard Resets Own Record Oakland City, IN - Oakland City hosted the Saints from Central Christian College of the Bible Wednesday, January 13, in the Johnson Center. Josh Maggard, who previously tied the school record with 8 steals in their last game, put a new school record in the books by recording 11 steals as the Mighty Oaks won easily 104-65. Brandon Hopf scored 13 and Josh Wilmes scored 12 points in the first half to help the Mighty Oaks to a 47-34 halftime lead over the visiting Saints. Central Christian Junior gaurd Reggie Evans scored 21 of his team's 34 points in the half thanks to 6-14 shooting from the field and a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line. OCU held Evans to only five second half points as the Mighty Oaks pulled away in the second half behind a blistering 61.5 percent shooting and a streak of eleven consecutive made free throws. Brandon Hopf was the leading scorer for the Oaks, tallying 26 points while pulling down 11 rebounds. Nate Schumacher again led OCU in rebounding with 13 while scoring 17 points. Josh Wilmes finished the game with 14 points and Jared Maners added 10. Josh Maggard, though he didn't score a point, tallied a double-double by dishing out 10 assists and racking up a school record 11 steals. OCU Men's and Women's Basketball Alumni Weekend Schedule Oakland City, IN - The Oakland City Alumni Basketball games are set for Saturday morning beginning with the women's warm-up at 9:00 am followed by the 3-point contest at 9:15 and the women's game at 9:30. The men will play at 10:30. The Homecoming King and Queen selections will be announced in the Johnson Center at noon. Saturday afternoon, Oakland City hosts Urbana University. The Lady Oaks play at 1:00 and the Mighty Oaks play at 3:00. Saturday evening, the Hall-of-Fame Banquet will be held in the Student Life Center. OCU Men Roll Behind Josh Maggard's School Record Oakland City, IN - The Mighty Oaks played host to the Ohio University-Lancaster Cougars Saturday, January 9, in the Johnson Center, winning by twenty-seven points in what could be the best game Oakland City has played thus far this season. The second half saw Oakland City steadily increase their lead behind Josh Maggard's eight assists in the second half alone and Brandon Hopf's 15 second-half points. The Cougars were held in check all game, managing to connect on a mere 38 percent of their field goal attempts while turning the ball over twenty times. Lady Oaks Defeat Shorthanded Cougars Oakland City, IN - The Lady Oaks hosted the Ohio University-Lancaster Cougars Saturday afternoon in the Johnson Center, winning by the final score of 83-64. The Lady Oaks, winning for the first time this season, improve their record to 5-9 on the year while the OU-Lancaster Lady Cougars, playing only six players, drop to 11-6 on the year.
