Transfer Students
Admissions Requirements
Students in good standing from accredited institutions are welcomed as transfer students. Transfer students from junior colleges or community colleges may have up to one-half of the requirements for a baccalaureate degree accepted, except where an associate degree has been completed in which case all work required for the degree will be accepted if it applies to the program of study at Oakland City University and meets grade requirements.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale from an accredited, approved, or commissioned high school; OR
Average (mean) score of 450 on the total battery of the GED; OR
Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale from an accredited, approved, or commissioned college/university - Minimum SAT score of 1250 or minimum ACT score of 19 (if applicable)

Admissions Checklist
- A paper application can be obtained from our office. The application fee is $35. The Online OCU Admissions Application can be printed out and mailed in with the application fee.
- If you have not completed an associate degree, contact your high school guidance counselor to have them send us your
- SAT or ACT test scores (if you are under 21 years of age)
- Final official high school transcript after your high school graduation
- Contact your state’s Department of Education to have them send us your GED score (if applicable).
- Contact any colleges/universities you have taken courses through to have them send us your transcripts.
- If you receive an acceptance offer from OCU, we will send you a FERPA release form and photo release form for you to return.

Q: May a student live off campus?
A: Unless otherwise approved by OCU in writing, a student who meets all the following criteria is required to live in University residence facilities as long as space permits in such facilities:
- Full time; and
- Traditional undergraduate student; and
- Attending the Oakland City campus; and
- Receiving any University funding; and
- Does not qualify for the housing policy exemption.
A housing policy exemption is granted by the Office for Campus Life to those living with their parent(s), court-appointed guardian, or who are married.

Q: How does a student register for classes?
A: New Student Orientation and Registration occur the day before classes begin for the semester. For the fall semester, new students have the option for early registration at Summer Spree. Summer Spree
