David M. Corn, Att. Mr. David M. Corn died July 23, 2007 at his home in Oakland City. Mr. Corn was the funeral director and part owner of the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. David was past president of the Kiwanis Club, a member of the Fire Dept. since age 19, and Chief Deputy Coroner. He is survived by his wife Dixie; mother, Eula Corn; three sons and daughters-in-law and 8 grandchildren.
Martha Lytton Martha Lytton passed away June 29, 2007 in Winterhaven, Florida. She is the mother of Mary Lee Lytton Flake, ’66, Sharon Baker, ’60, and Howard B. Lytton, Jr. ’60. She was also the widow of Indiana State Policeman, Howard B. Lytton, Sr. Martha was 90 years old and was born in Indianapolis. Burial was in Gentryville, Indiana.
Patricia L. Sanders, ‘64 Ms. Pat Sanders died July 1, 2007 in Chandler, Indiana. She was a former English teacher for Paoli and Mount Vernon Schools. She worked for Chandler Nursery School. |

Esther R. Nossett, ‘46 Ms. Esther Nossett passed away on April 8, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City. She was a member of First Church of The Nazarene and was a retired school teacher, having taught in Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky. She is survived by brothers, Jimmie L. Nossett, of Oakland City and Charles Nossett, of Hollister, California and several nieces and nephews.
Rev. Oakley “Jack” Hargrave, ‘30 Rev. Hargrave passed away on June 16, 2007 at his home in Johnsonville, Illinois. Rev. Hargrave was a leader in the General Baptist denomination and a strong supporter of OCU. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the OCU Scholarship fund for ministerial students.
Harry Anson, ‘53 Harry Anson passed away May 12, 2007 from complications of brain gliomas. He is survived by his wife Jeannine Huebner Anson, and a daughter Carol White.
Dixon Pennington, ‘60 Mr. Dixon Pennington, 81, passed away on July 16, 2007, at the Lincoln Hills Care Center in Tell City, Indiana. He taught elementary school from 1962 to 1986. He was a WWII veteran and a past president of the Spencer County Retired Teachers Association. He is survived by his wife, Marlene, daughter, Julie Pennington, grandson, Jason Brown, and sister Jean Laird.
